ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES (ART)
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) is the technology used to achieve pregnancy in procedures such as fertility medication, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization and surrogacy. With ART, the process of sexual intercourse is bypassed either by artificial insemination or fertilization of the oocytes in the laboratory environment (i.e., in vitro fertilization). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)— which is required to publish the annual ART success rates at U.S. fertility clinics—defines ART to include “all fertility treatments in which both eggs and sperm are handled.
Some forms of ART are also used with regard to fertile couples for genetic reasons (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) and for fertility preservation.
Here at CACRM, we offer the latest ART services, backed with over 60 years of combined experience and expertise in the field of fertility.
